INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

I offer a secure and warm environment for both children and adults to work through challenges and find emotional stability. My goal is to help you understand, process and adapt the way you are thinking and feeling. Together we will work towards change, and I will support you in developing new skills to manage your difficulties so that you are empowered to go beyond the limitations that are holding you back and achieve positive mental wellbeing.

I offer a free 15 minute call to discuss what is going on for you and to explore if the therapies I offer could help you with your current struggles. See below the types of therapy offered to find out more.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

CHARLY BALDWIN - just the face_edited_ed

Are you feeling worried all the time, overthinking, restless, tired a lot, easily annoyed, aching muscles or difficulty concentrating then you could be experiencing anxiety.

Are you feeling sad all the time or 'numb', not enjoying things you used to, changes in eating and sleeping, feeling worthless, and sometimes thinking about hurting yourself, these are symptoms linked to depression.

CBT is used to treat depression, anxiety disorders such as obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic, PTSD, health anxiety, and other common mental health disorders. CBT is evidence-based and personalised to each individual's needs, it can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave.

The goal in therapy is to help you understand the problematic relationship between your negative thoughts, feelings and behaviour. We will work together to help you face your challenges and develop skills that will empower you to manage your symptoms to improve the way you feel.

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a therapy that's really helpful for people who have been through tough or scary things. It's great for treating traumas, like car accidents or being in a really scary situation, where you might feel upset or scared even when it's over.  But it also works for smaller traumas, like being bullied, going through a breakup, or even a really embarrassing moment that still bothers you. If you're having bad memories that won't go away, EMDR can help. It uses guided eye movements to help your brain process these tough memories, kind of like helping your brain deal with the bad stuff so it doesn't bother you as much. Symptoms that EMDR can help with include things like feeling really scared or anxious, having nightmares or flashbacks, and not being able to stop thinking about the scary stuff that happened.

At my practice, I offer EMDR therapy as a way to help clients process and overcome trauma and other mental health challenges. Through a unique combination of talking therapy, guided eye movements and processing, EMDR enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. If you're struggling with the effects of trauma, EMDR therapy may be just what you need.
